Salt for scrubbing

Definitely the best thing this week so far was a visit to my lovely organic beautician in Ekohoitola Lumme! I was scrubbed and polished and masked and moisturised and pampered - just what the doctor ordered! All of it was lovely but the scrub was something I'll try at home. It consisted of:

- coarse sea salt
- organic olive oil
- a few drops of essential oil (I think she used lemon but anything you like would do, I guess)

Mix together and rub all over your person! (Avoid any stingy and/or sensitive bits though.) You can just get rid of the extra salt with towel if you don't want to shower. My very dry skin felt soft and nice - and just think how affordable this mixture is!

Knitwear!

What can be more frivolous than a knitted woolly mini skirt? If you really want/need to keep warm you´re not going to really wear a mini skirt are you? They look really cool though. Here are a couple of my favourites!

This foxy one is made in UK by Reluxe using upcycled (Shame on me, I actually had to check this one! Apparently it means re-using some material from something else, like making sandals of car tyres - I guess here the yarn has served some other purpose before) wool.  There was a wide selection of patterns but I liked this one the best. You can get it at least from Fashion-conscience. (One of my favourite places in the World Wide Web.)

Now if I would be(or at least feel) very rich this would be it. It´s from the new autumn/winter collection by Finnish designer Minna Parikka. Made in Finland (so one would hope it´s fairly made) of viscose and dralon (what ever that may be) so it doesn´t even pretend to be warm and serious. And it comes in several different overly sweet colours! Mmmm!

Testing....

I just couldn't wait anymore! After a long debate with myself I decided to write this blog in English - mostly because I couldn't come up with a satisfactory name for the blog in my native Finnish! ( I was really pleased with this one actually.) Anyway, this blog is dedicated to frivolous but ethically and environmentally sound things in life - all that unnecessary but oh so deliciously fun stuff like fashion, cosmetics, edible and drinkable treats and so on. (Terribly materialistic, I know.) Just wait and see! Maybe I'll occasionally get on a somber mood and do a book review - I am a librarian after all.

I feel a wee bit silly writing in English since it's not my first language - maybe you could call it a second one though since my husband is a native English speaker. Anyway, using English multiplies my changes for reaching like-minded people I guess - there's only 5 million of us Finnish speakers around!

I'm pretty happy that I finally got this started - I've been mulling it in my head for ages. And now I have a legitimate reason to invest on a new camera too!
